Just my personal experience, I had Ambit and I compared the rates, they had higher rates and I never got a refund check.

No.
I didn't feel its fair that I have to track rates and then beg them for that few dollars, I let it go.

I can't argue with his experience.

I don't have any personal experience with this bec I don't live in NY, although I do know people (2 to be exact) that received a check without asking.

To be correct, I compared them to National Grid, not ConEd. That's the difference?

It doesn't sound like you're all too familiar with how ambit works.

In NYS, the electric companies (con-ed, etc) can change their rates at anytime. As therefore it is very hard for ambit to list a specific rate.

To prevent that issue, they guarantee a discount.

Many times it turns out that con-ed drops the rate at the last minute and ambit cant drop their rates instantly. So what happens is that you will be billed ambits rate (higher rate), and they will mail you a check for the difference (which will be at least 1% less then con-ed charged).

And yes, I know people personally that received a check.

In NJ they don't have this problem bec the JCP&L/PSE&G publish their rates months in advance and they cant change them at the last minute bec its BPU regulated and needs to go through an approval process.

I hope this info helps clear up some of the misinformation out there.

I WAS an ambit customer and did extensive research before (and after) joining due to getting screwed over in the past with other ESCO's like Ambit.

I'm posting this info just to share what i've found out from my research.  :)
-from my experience..

I'm not looking to refer anybody or to convince anybody to switch over to them. -to the contrary!
FTFM!

ConEd and National Grid.
Like asking what's the difference between Mobil and hess. They are two different gas stations

Are you a con Ed customer or a national grid customer?

National Grid is only for Gas.
