Paying credit repair people to remove inquiries in NJ
« on: June 28, 2011, 04:56:45 PM »
Someone commented on DD home page under credit repair ad that they paid $1800 and had 35 inquiries removed from their report. Here in NJ, most pulls are from Experian so it could be a beautiful thing. That being said, my experience is that if I do a Amex trifecta every 3 months, it creates just one pull and Amex cool with the fact that I have 18 pulls in last 12 months. Chase with the credit freeze makes them pull from TU so that's okay. That leaves me with Citibank. I have had all AA cards at one time and have been denied every other time either because I have had the card previously or too many pulls.

I would have to get the AA card twice to make it worthwhile. Any other benefits that I'm not considering? What would you do?

Not a bad gig, any idea how they do this? Do they do this for Experian as well? (bumpage doesn't work for Experian).

+1 . Is he in NJ . Its been mentioned a few times and people claim that there isn't anything to do for Experian besides challanging which I doubt is getting 35 inquiries off.

If the guy could get 35 inqs off Experian in NJ (how you get 35 pulls in the first place is beyond me), it might be worth a boatload more than $1,800 for mortgage applicants.

I assumed it was some clueless fellow who was struggling and shopping like md for credit cards to max out. Those are easier to challange he didn't get the card so there isn't an obvious record of it.And he had a few per month that you could confuse a CSR when challanging the pull. Your correct for mortgage puposes you gain a tremendous amount of intrest saved without those inquiries. Thats if you could even get one with the original score.

Can you fill me in with the mortgage thing: are you saying that for every pull you have the interest on the mortgage will go up??? That is beyond scary!

No, but inquiries hurt your score (for at least 3-6 months). They also make you seem less creditworthy if the lender counts them and you have so many.

If that's the case, what's the difference between 2 years and after that, given that the lender can see ALL your inquires up until 7 years?

I don't think they can see 7 years back. IIRC inquiries only stay on for two years.

The inquiry stays for two but the facts and info stay for seven, IIRC.

Depends what info. I'm quite confident that what you see when you pull your reports is what they see when they pull it.

you know the story about a patient with Alzheimer ask doctor to treat him, doctor said "sure but you have to pre pay me".        this 35 pull guy sounds so like there may be more to the story

my general opinion on this is its like a divorce in your situation it might be the best option but its a bad one. i dont know what these guys are doing for all you know it could be messing up your credit rating evan if the actual number goes up that doesnt mean to much about the report in general. but if i knew what they were doing i may have a dif opinion about it

Doesn't Dan refrain from posting illegitimate advertisers?

it can be legit all i am saying is i dont know what they are doing and although it ups your numbers there are other factors that are on a report that are more imp than the actual score and those thing might get played around with
