Ya, I don’t think I’m taking that flight. The 3:15 flight id chance w backup options at both cities.

How about 3:15 arrival? I can get 4 pax + 1 lap infant @ $800 (on Silkair's thai site, $400 cheaper than google flights, and similar to the mileage cost if that were available of 50k SQ points + ~$140). There's a flight landing @ 1:05 that's a little more $ as well, but then I'd need to leave my palace earlier :).  A bit more expensive than what EY would charge though on the PG flight.

Which ever way your trip plays out this is a great new master thread. Have had many occasions to weigh this issue.

Yup, I've had to skip a few returns from business trips due to this, but have never flow late friday internationally.

Booked Silkair landing at 1:05 to be safe...

Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Yup. C'est la vie.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

+1 this discussion definitely made me think about a few things already just for this trip!

It's just a shame that my USM-SIN flight is literally costing me as much as EWR-SIN-EWR...

Don’t think of it that way...instead say “Holy Smokes, I just got this whole insane vacation for such a reasonable price WITH amazing kosher food and to even B”H be with a Minyan and have beautiful Shabbos Seudahs!” We take all this for granted but they are truly astounding things. When I tell my “normal” non-DDF friends about a trip like this they can’t even wrap their mind around these travels at high price, much less the pittance we tend to pay for them.  :)
