I don't have a problem memorizing the prayers.
The problem is either I get mixed up from hearing other people pray or I get distracted and never know where I'm up to.
Live forever or die trying.

If this is a motivator for you then take advantage of it. How long until shas baal peh?

R Chaim Volozin said to know at least one mesechta baal peh so you can always learn something even without sforim.
You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used to start a religious discussion.

I got to know a blind person (I'm pretty sure he became blind at an older age), who would Daven the whole Davening out loud. Eventually it made me think, if I ever go blind I won't be able to Daven, so for the past bunch of years (probably around 10 years), I've been Davening out loud and by heart (with a Siddur always next to me "just in case"), at this point I can pretty much Daven all general Teffilos by heart.
There's a blind man in Queens who davens everything out loud. I get extremely distracted, but mostly because I'm thinking about how he's davening with such kavana and his tefillos must have such a big effect.
