ZRH - which lounge to use?
« on: June 29, 2011, 09:20:08 AM »
Hi all,

I'm contemplating a flight with a several-hour connection in Zurich. I looked up ZRH on the PriorityPass website, and they list no less than five accessible lounges - three Swiss lounges, a Panorama lounge, and a Skyview lounge. Is there any difference between them? Should I try to get to a specific lounge, or just go to whichever one is nearest to my gate?

Also, do any of them happen to have Kosher food/drinks?

Thanks!

The Panorama is 5th on this list. Don't know if that means anything

It really matters where you are.
When we flew VCE-ZRH-TLV we accessed the LX lounge first which was by the domestic gates but then we had to clear customs and security again to get to the TLV gates.  The LX J lounges are all pretty good.  When you leave the LX F lounge they escort you through security.
By the TLV gates there is only access to the Panarama lounge, which was merely an OK lounge IMHO.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Any updates on lounges in ZRH - specifically for someone flying in LX C with a transfer from TLV going on to USA?

I have a 12 hour layover, any ideas? Can I stay in the lounge the whole time? (LX I class)

Sure. but why not check out the city?

How far from shul/kosher food? Easy/safe by mass transit?

12 minutes by train from the airport to Zurich cental station.  The frum community is around a 15 minute walk or short trolley from there.  Not expensive either.

Taxis are a fortune, but the trains aren't bad (most other things in town are expensive)

+1 the arrivals lounge is amazing.

Not so sure the F lounge is nicer than the business lounge, but I guess it's preferable.
