UA international OW = half of RT

I noticed that United Airline seems to be charging international One-Way's at about half the price of Round Trip (at least between Australia and USA).
Is this:
A mistake?
A new policy?
Or is this old news and my head has been in the sand?

On international? On trans-Pacific?
Definitely not since forever. In fact, definitely not before recently.

In fact, go on Kayak or Google Flights or whatever, and compare their OW's against any other airline that flies the same route.

Um, i think he's talking revenue, not award. That may be a pricing quirk. Usually OW is more than half of RT.

Award has always been 1/2 of RT price. He seems to be saying revenue is now 1/2 RT price. Allowing for a better Apples to apples comparison.
