Pars Kosher Market in San Jose, certified by the Vaad, now has a small eat in section (4 tables, first come first serve) with a short meat menu and ready made hot food. Also lots of kosher groceries.
Stanford University Cafeteria weekday lunches five days a week and dinners Monday - Thurs. General public can pay at Florence Moore Dorm and enjoy the Kosher section. Fleishig (meat) for both meals each day. Flo-Mo, as it is called, is on Mayfield Ave., across from the parking lot of Tressidor.  Finding the dining hall can be a challenge for outsiders but any student will direct you.

Groceries (etc):

San Francisco
CHOUX Bakery - French cream puffs (Haight-Ashbury) Pas yisroel, cholov yisroel. No longer certified kosher / open on Shabbos.

East Bay
Oakland Kosher.
Grand Bakery (Oakland) Pas Yisroel, Dairy items are NOT cholov yisroel. Closing 12/23/16
Berkeley Bowl (Berkeley) has some kosher items.
Costco (Definitely the one in Richmond. I believe this applies to others in the Bay Area, but this is what I know firsthand.) has cholov yisroel cheese and Jack's sausages. (As of August 2014)

South Bay
I believe Mollie Stone's in Palo Alto has a big Kosher selection. there are probably other options there as well.

If you don't need an eruv, this place seems like a great option: http://www.kenesethisraelsf.org/services.html
Downtown SF, with tons of hotels within walking distance. They have minyanim and meals.

If you need inside an eruv, there are apparently 4 in the area (source): Richmond District, Sunset District, Berkely and Palo Alto. The first 2 don't appear to have any hotels inside the eruv.

Berkeley eruv lists several motels inside the eruv and walking distance from the shul:
http://www.berkeleyeruv.org/Links.html
Same for Palo Alto:

I went. It's nice but small. Good tasting room. I would go to Modavi (not kosher) for the tour to see a full sized winery and then go to hagafen for tasting. Napa itself is worth a trip. Can also see the redwoods. Armstrong park is near there.

Anyone have recommendation for hotel to stay in for 5 people - 2 adults & 3 kids. Preferably like 2 or 3 bedroom. Any possibility of doing something like this with points in San Francisco?

Thanks! Already searched can't seem to find much.

If you're willing to go over the Bay Bridge by car or take the BART,there is a Hyatt House in Emeryville that was decent. Some rooms have a pull out sofa. There is also a kitchenette which came in handy for our dinners as there isn't much kosher in the area. Hyatt House has free breakfast for all so we had cereal and fruit.

We have a 5 hour stopover in SFO with the kids, any ideas of things to do not far from the airport? Also, what's our best bet for food?

not sure when you are landing or what traffic would be like but sunrisekosher.org lists a bunch of kosher options. I'm guessing for you that palo alto may be worth it food wise for izzys bagels or krispe kreme (not sure what to do) unless you want to get from sabra in san fran but reading this thread may make you want to avoid it.

or look into one of the bakeries on that website if they have stuff..

New Kosher option in Berkeley for anybody local or visiting (started Aug 19th).

One of the dining hall options in UC Berkeley is now under the Vaad of Northern California and is open to the public (as well as students).

It's buffet style dining, with prices at $10 for Breakfast, $11 for Brunch/Lunch and $12 for Dinner. A to-go container is $1 extra.

Here's some more info about the place.

Will be in SF next Friday and can't get back to Midwest in time for Shabbos.  Would like to meet DW somewhere near SF (within 90 minute flight or so) for a weekend getaway - any suggestions of nice (points) resorts/locations?
