Are there any big grocery stores like Ralph's or Von's that have a kosher section?
Mollie Stone's in Palo Alto has a pretty big kosher section.
I'm not sure about the SF locations, but I imagine they have at least something...

Pita was soggy
Interesting. I'm not gonna claim the food is anything special, but I've never had a problem with the pita.
Was this the pas yisroel pita or the regular pita?

I didn't see anyone mention another option for a meal (unless you don't consider doughnuts and coffee a meal):

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts
1575 Sullivan Ave, Daly City, CA (Vaad Hakashrus of Northern California (a/k/a Sunrise Kosher))
(and other locations).

thats kinda in yehupitzville, wish there was an option in SF proper.
when we drove down to LA we stopped in Palo Alto at Izzy's (pretty good quality basic bagel place with home made/camp-like pizza), and then at the nearby kosher krispy kreme, filling up our trunk with bagels, shmeers and doughnuts for the trip and stop at big sur. we ended up eating better kosher in big sur than in the big city of san fran...

I love this quote
Quote
“We’ve never had the success that we hoped it would, that I’d hoped it would,” Wornick told me a few months ago. “I’m getting frustrated. Even with the community. We’re the only kosher restaurant in the East Bay. I mean, I don’t know what it is — if there’s not enough people who care about Israeli food, or not enough people who care about kosher food."
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

For what its worth, I was there in June and L'chaim Sushi was still under Rabbi Landau, a local modern orthodox rabbi. My LOR said this was good enough for me (a black hat young israel rabbi who learned in a prestigious jlem kollel). Unfortunately due to logistics i couldnt get sushi from them (they are far from the main SF and delivery is costly), but i actually happened to meet the owner, and he was a nice well spoken guy, and combined with Rabbi Landau's supervision, i thought the food would be reliably kosher.

Any Shabbos suggestions as far as lodging with a family of 6 near shuls and with some sort of kitchenette? I saw these places on this site https://www.emekberacha.org/guide/lodging.html but would be a small fortune.
