+1 to Tilden.
Although the carousel and steam train are probably only open on weekends this time of year. (Unless it's when the schools have a spring break)
The little farm will be open, but they put the animals away earlyish in the afternoon.
Right outside Tilden there are a couple of great overlooks that overlook the bay/sf, a great sunset location.
Yup, carousel and steam train won't be open.

If we can do 2 of these, which should we go with?
Exploritorium, Fisherman's Wharf or Muir Woods?

Muir Woods is a nice walk/hike. I had forgotten about it but DW, who grew up in Marin, seconds the vote for it.
She and I also suggest Exploratorium over FW. Latter is really just a tourist trap, IOHO.

Exploritorium is very kid friendly and perfect for your very inquisitive son. Muir Woods is just a nice walk around the Redwood trees. It's ok but since you're there for such a short time I would skip that.

I also didn't love FW. I would hang out by Pier 39. There were also some museums and gardens in I think Golden Gate Park.

+1 I think a kid would enjoy it as well. There is a tree that you can walk into.
The drive to Muir woods is beautiful as well!

There is a tree that you can walk into.
"Where is the walk-thru tree?
The so-called Walk-Thru Tree in Muir Woods was in Cathedral Grove. This tree toppled over in
December 1971. The tree survived about 600 years – that is just a quarter of its potential life
span. The effects of trampling and the destruction of plant communities deprived the tree of a
suitable environment in which to grow. The fence installed since the tree’s demise hopefully will
extend the lives of the remaining redwoods in Cathedral Grove. The destruction to the
environment over the many years of unrestricted use, however, will take many years to recover. "

There is actually a tree that you can drive through. However it's much closer to Oregon prob 150 miles away from SF. Obviously not relevant for the current trip.

It's not a walk thru. You can just walk in.
I don't remember the name of the tree, but its right in the beginning of the trail.

if u somehow find more time/cancel something else, the koret playground at golden gate park and the Cal Academy of Sciences was a lot of fun, though the latter was prob more fun for my older 6-8 kids. Very interesting exhibit on earthquakes, with a simulator that was a lil spooky but cool, plus a planetarium that your kid may or may not freak out in. and about a 15 minute walk away is the big koret playground your 4.5 might love (also a nice carousel if interested).

Flying with Rafi UA 747 upstairs to SFO, he's super pumped :)

Suggestions on what to do?

Seems like Sabra Grill is the only place to eat :o

Hey Dan, when is your trip to SFO? We'll be at the Fairmont SFO in late June.

Need hotel advice: I want to use my free Hyatt Anniversary night. Should I stay at the Hyatt Centric Fisherman's Wharf, or Hyatt Regency (Embarcadero)?
