Stanford University Cafeteria weekday lunches five days a week and dinners Monday - Thurs. General public can pay at Florence Moore Dorm and enjoy the Kosher section. Fleishig (meat) for both meals each day. Flo-Mo, as it is called, is on Mayfield Ave., across from the parking lot of Tressidor.  Finding the dining hall can be a challenge for outsiders but any student will direct you.

Groceries (etc):

I believe Mollie Stone's in Palo Alto has a big Kosher selection. there are probably other options there as well.

Napa/Sonoma and Marin county are all very relaxing places.

http://m.yelp.com/biz/mission-minyan-san-francisco?hrid=lgAYZLofgioIqtod6nyPUw

22. How is the minyan run? Who makes decisions about all this stuff?
The Mission Minyan is run by a group of committed volunteers who go by the name "machers."'

This place is not the typical orthodox place, so please be aware.
I know this is very old post, but was doing some research for a upcoming trip and found this.

From the FAQ on http://www.missionminyan.org/faq.php

11. Are you egalitarian?
Yes and no. Our community is comprised largely of feminists who believe in women's full equality in society and in Judaism. We try as much as possible to demonstrate that through our events insofar as we believe halacha allows.

Men and women share responsibilities in leading services, leyning Torah and so forth, within certain guidelines. In our community, women lead certain parts of services, like Kaballat Shabbat, Saturday morning Torah services and P'sukei D'zimrah. Men lead maariv, shacharit and mincha. If a women is reading Torah, a woman is given the accompanying aliyah, and if a man is reading, a man gets the aliyah.

Perhaps the chief innovation that you will notice is our definition of minyan. A minyan has traditionally meant a group of 10 men. The Mission Minyan has innovated upon that term to define the quorum for prayer needed in our community as 10 men and 10 women.

that makes getting together a minyan slightly more complicated!

It was slightly chilly in the morning and then warmed up last April 13, though how that would affect this April I have not a clue.

St Regis is the best hotel in SF and accepts points, though maybe not the best value
