Isn't there a lot of uphill biking there? I guess it depends which direction you do.

I don't think there is a ferry to or from that location. Either way, it is very windy there and can be quite a ride.

We will rent bikes from Blazing Saddles by their Hyde Park location which is right by the start of the bike path. It is a little over 8 miles from the start to Salsalido which you then can take the ferry back to Fisherman’s Wharf. The women I spoke to at Blazing Sadler said it’s very doable for adults and kids and one of the most beautiful bikes rides. Wish us luck!

The Rabbis of the Orthodox shul in Oakland & Berkeley started a new Hashgacha - "East Bay Kosher."
Just be aware that what passes for Orthodox in Berkeley is not necessarily quite the same as NY...

I can vouch for the Rabbi in Oakland. Flying Falafel was very good!

Going SF next week and staying near Union Square. We were planning on Shabbos meals at Chabad but a friend just told me it’s not such a safe area and he wouldn’t walk around there at night. Apparently you have to step over s lot of  homeless people. Any truth to that? Are they more and less safe routes to take?

It's better than your friend is making it seem. I've been there atleast 10x in the last 2 years. The homeless are harmless in that area.

IHG is nice and is a great value if you have an uncapped credit card night.
