Stanford University Cafeteria weekday lunches five days a week and dinners Monday - Thurs. General public can pay at Florence Moore Dorm and enjoy the Kosher section. Fleishig (meat) for both meals each day. Flo-Mo, as it is called, is on Mayfield Ave., across from the parking lot of Tressidor.  Finding the dining hall can be a challenge for outsiders but any student will direct you.

I believe Mollie Stone's in Palo Alto has a big Kosher selection. there are probably other options there as well.

Is there any reason to order a Fastrak before going to SF?

Are you really going to be crossing bridges that often? I went for a few days and only crossed the Golden Gate once by car. Not to mention that with the GG you only pay the toll coming in to SF, not out... I would plan out your days, map it out on google maps (or the likes) and see.

We don't have tolls on highways (that's why we call them freeways on the west coast) but it does give you access to the express lane on one or two... I think the 678.
Not very helpful if you're driving from LA (you'll be taking the 5 or the 1)

I think the St Reg is nicest hotel in SF, although I haven't been in the the Fairmont. The Hyatt regency is like comparing a paper clip to a diamond ring.

Never heard of Mark Hopkins

MArk Hopkins has a famous lounge, Top of the Mark. Supposed to be nice. But I'm gonna check out St Regis. Thanks!

Any family friendly hotels in the san francisco area ( starwood or hyatt grands) I will be traveling for a couple of days with my husband and 4 children ( one is a baby). Any advice on hotels that would accommodate my family size, would be appreciated.

Nope (they won't know what kosher is) and there are only 3 of them.

I made the mistake previously. Those are the only ones that don't have a hechsher. The drinks are still kosher. The cream cheese was kosher as well, on that note though, you might as well go to any ralph's and stick to bagels and philadelphia cream cheese.
