No, but I looked into it and still decided Airbnb was the better option.

The Four Points was, not sure where the Hilton was exactly.

IINM @yehuda stayed near Diagonal and said it was out of the way. Everyone says the place to be is Ramblas. We have booked AirBnB there for August.

Diagonal is a long street. The Four Points is out of the way, but other parts of the street aren't as much. Obviously Las Ramblas is the most centrally located area. I also booked an AirBnB when we were there last July.

Just got back from our trip. The Hilton diagonal indeed was far from everything but the metro system in bcn is great so we were fine

Opinions on whether it's worth half a day to take a side trip from Madrid to Toledo? We have 1.5 days in Madrid, so this would cut into our only full day there. Family of 5 (3 teenagers).

I have read @yehuda's TR, but even that could go either way.

We would have gone had we had more time in Madrid if that helps. Also we didn't have much more we wanted to do in MAD itself.

Also FWIW, my 19-year-old brother was in Madrid for an 11 hour layover. They daw everything they wanted to see and don't have anything they'd like to go back and see. All they did was walk the city center and go boating in Retiro Park.

That's valuable. So, the five of us will arrive late on a Tuesday evening, have all day Wednesday in Madrid, and then leave Thursday morning for Sevilla. Seems that we can afford to take half of Wednesday in Toledo. Train only takes 30 minutes each way and costs $30RT.
