Activities: Toledo - a day trip from Madrid to see 2 old Shuls. Can hire a tour guide, Rabbi Hanoka (info@jewishtoledotour.com), which is not cheap, or can take a train on your own. 1 of the Shuls (El Transito) is closed on Mondays. @Yehuda went on a day when that Shul was closed, and the other Shul was really just an empty room and seemed like a Christian organization now runs the center. Without a tour guide, it was hard to get anything Jewish out of our trip (other than an antique store that had some Judaica). But, people who have taken the tour (discussed in the thread) have said it was great! Recommended to go with a tour or not go at all (and ensure to go on a day when both are open!). Report in the thread that the sometimes-closed Shul has audio headsets for use, so that would help. If going alone, you can research the Jewish places at the link HERE

The sadness continued at the Prada. But first, I will say that we enjoyed the Palace immensely. When we got out, after touring for about 90min, there was no line!

At the Prada, line was about 30 minutes. Kids under 18 and students would have been half price with id, but of course we didn't have them with us and the CSR was inflexible.

Happily, at the Reina Sofia, our luck improved. We lined up 10th in line at 6:30. By 7pm, for free entry , the line was a few hundred people long, stretching almost across the street to Atocha Stn. Not sure if you can see how long it goes in the pic. Once inside, really enjoyed seeing Guernica and other modern and post-modern works.

Sorry to hear about the wait, though as you can tell there's not always a line so we just got lucky I guess.

Finishing up our short stay in Seville and driving to GIB in about an hour. FWIW, I see there is a Costco about one km from the HGI where we stayed. It was a nice property, nice pool, and they gave diamond breakfast for both rooms (but nothing I could eat). Flamenco show last night at La Casa del Flamenco was very good. I enjoyed going to La Carboneria afterwards even more... Kind of divey with cheap drinks and spontaneous informal singing and flamenco erupting. We also did Rick steves self guided tour through what was the Jewish ghetto. That was great. We also poked our head in a Jewish Seville museum -- small -- didn't have time to tour it.

Not as far as I know and I've been there numerous times.

The closest is Toledo. Some old shuls.

I'm flying to BCN in August for a week on the $400 tickets. Looking to possibly jump to Ibiza, Croatia, or some other nearby destination. Any suggestions?

That all depends on where you want to go, but unless you're thinking of somewhere in Spain this is the wrong thread.

Well I figured due to the fact that I'm going to Spain I'd post here and if someone had a suggestion outside of Spain I'd post in another thread. I honestly am just looking to hear what others have done aside form just BCN as I know nothing of that area

Is there anywhere in off the coast that has over water villas? I guess I'm really looking for something on the water, which is why I chose BCN over Madrid
