Not into museums. Bullfights are in the summer not going to work out. I enjoy places of historical significance especially in relation to jewish history. Are there fun things to do there?

Spain is difficult with regards to Jewish History as most of it has been wiped out. If you are in Madrid and take the high speed train over to Toledo for the day (about 30-45min) you can get a much better picture of Jewish history in Spain. There is a nice Jewish museum, 2 old synagogues and the main square where auto-de-fe's would take place.

I did it with a tour guide who I hired for a 1/2 day tour that was great, but not cheap.

In my research I came across Toledo as being a place for a look into Jewish History. Was wondering what price range would a tour guide cost me?

Into the hundreds because it was a private one. Not even sure if he still does it or not.

I liked the Royal Palace in Madrid, Retiro Park was great to walk around and get a boat (but during the winter could be different, I was there in summer), Plaza Mayor...

I'm trying to remember other things I did but my itinerary is on my other computer.

Another thing I remember was the Teleferico (it is like a suspended cable car ride) overlooking the city. Very nice and then got a good walk through the old royal hunting grounds. If you don't like the Prado and some of the other sprinklings in Madrid, it is a city meant for walking and exploring (IMHO). Otherwise, spend your day in Toledo and that's it. I don't know how much other stuff you will find so interesting.

The Royal Palace obviously has a historical bent but not Jewish.

I had thoughts of Barcelona but I wasn't sure(in planning stages). i figured let me see what is in Madrid first. What are some of the things to do in Barcelona?

the ramblas, the gaudi architecture, park guell, the gothic quarter, theres a jewish tour (and a visit to the rashbas shul), the montjuic area, a fountain show...

if youre talking about restaurants, there arent any, but i think the chabad rabbis wife might sell some home cooked food
however kosher products can be found
