Shabbos Tips: Stay at Hotel Condado it is about a 3 minute walk from the shul (local community), bear in mind there is no eruv, so you will need to either leave the room open or make some arrangement with the hotel, they do not offer keys (or have that option at all)

Activities: Toledo - a day trip from Madrid to see 2 old Shuls. Can hire a tour guide, Rabbi Hanoka (info@jewishtoledotour.com), which is not cheap, or can take a train on your own. 1 of the Shuls (El Transito) is closed on Mondays. @Yehuda went on a day when that Shul was closed, and the other Shul was really just an empty room and seemed like a Christian organization now runs the center. Without a tour guide, it was hard to get anything Jewish out of our trip (other than an antique store that had some Judaica). But, people who have taken the tour (discussed in the thread) have said it was great! Recommended to go with a tour or not go at all (and ensure to go on a day when both are open!). Report in the thread that the sometimes-closed Shul has audio headsets for use, so that would help. If going alone, you can research the Jewish places at the link HERE

Have a choice between 3 ,6 and 12 hour daytime stopover in madrid.  How long will it take us to get from airport into town and how long of a stopover should we take to visit the city and not have to rush?  What do you suggest we do in such a short stop?

The kings palace is nice in Madrid as is the retiro park. You can take out a boat on the water there.
I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

If you take the 12 hour layover you'll have plenty of time to go to Retiro Park and walk around the city.

El Corte Ingles in Puerto Banus has a kosher section although it's mostly dry and frozen. Little or no fresh from what I recall but I may be wrong.

Seems there is a new Kosher establishment in Marbella. Anyone know if the Hechsher is reliable?

I have an upcoming airbnb reservation in Palma, and the host is saying that due to a recent change in Spanish law I have to sign a lease.  Has anyone experienced that?  Is that legit?

Interesting. I wouldn't put it past them. They did ban UberX 2 years ago.

Is the milk in Spain kosher? Also, is there shelf-stable milk?

bump

I guess this would be related to whether the milk in Europe in general is kosher. (Obviously not CY)

1. Any feedback on the kosher restaurant in Marbella (aside from the Facebook page)?
2. I wonder how long is the drive from Marbella to Gibraltar, and what would a taxi cost?
Thanks!

Does anyone know what the deal is with Isamar Kosher grocery in Barcelona? Google is showing it as permanently closed.

It barely had anything anyway, not much of loss, although I guess something is better than nothing. But you can get in touch with the Chabad Mashgiach at Maccabee Restaurant to ask. He was easy to reach IIRC and had info on the Shuls and food situation in BCN when I went.
