Activities: Toledo - a day trip from Madrid to see 2 old Shuls. Can hire a tour guide, Rabbi Hanoka (info@jewishtoledotour.com), which is not cheap, or can take a train on your own. 1 of the Shuls (El Transito) is closed on Mondays. @Yehuda went on a day when that Shul was closed, and the other Shul was really just an empty room and seemed like a Christian organization now runs the center. Without a tour guide, it was hard to get anything Jewish out of our trip (other than an antique store that had some Judaica). But, people who have taken the tour (discussed in the thread) have said it was great! Recommended to go with a tour or not go at all (and ensure to go on a day when both are open!). Report in the thread that the sometimes-closed Shul has audio headsets for use, so that would help. If going alone, you can research the Jewish places at the link HERE

Trying to figure out the best way to fly.
Aug 13 or 14 till Sept 3 or 4.
If anyone could help me that would be great!!

A-From NY. Into madrid ( then head to Barcelona, Ibiza, Valencia, head down south, Marbella, Malaga, Gibralt and seville.  ( Possible Cordoba and Grenada) and fly back to NY from somewhere down south. Any of those have direct flights to NY? Or even a fun stopover for 2 days ( is there even such a thing? )

B- Or from NY to Madrid, go around and end in Barcelona for a week ( end on a high note)

C- Or into Barcelona, and go down south and come around and fly out of Madrid ( which isn't as nice as the other areas)

As far as spending 3 shabbosim in spain, I was thinking, Gibralter, Barcelona, and Valencia.
Any other siggestions?

Thanks so much.

An award ticket is when you use airline miles (you earned from credit cards or previous flights) to book the flight. Did you PM Whyaich about your flight? Or email him Whyaich@gmail.com

500 miles won't get you .... anywhere. :)

But then again maybe you have an account sitting around with 50,000? 150,000?

You should check into that.

Fun story-  I was helping my grandfather with some of his accounts last week and we decided to look at his old ancient United account.

So his United miles had expired but apparently he had flown Continental quite a bit and obviously when they merged it all went into one account. And sitting there was 200,000+ miles. What a fun surprise. And I'm glad we caught them before they expire next year.

Ah, that sounds better.
When is the expiration date? Sept 1?

You might want to sell it if you don't end up using it on your upcoming trip.

Chaval to let it go to waste.

Just saying IMO the biggest perk of this website is to earn miles through credit cards and earn free flights and hotels through that. You may want to look into that.

The best points to use?
The best to use to earn points?
That would be the Sapphire. double points on travel. And if you book through travelocity or something through the Ultimate Rewards mall that's another 2 points per dollar.
