It wouldn't be priced for profit only to sustain as mentioned

If just to sustain (and hoping it grows and you have more Minyanim using it), it might be easier to look for sponsorship (monthly / annually) as a L'Zechus or Leilui Nishmat thing (add a little line at the bottom of the "Mincha Confirmed" text (either every day or once a week) who it's in honor of that period).

Not sure if either of this are related to this - minyanmaker.org - which is not free, but charges the shul/org using it.

At my office, 1 guy sends out an Outlook calendar each day. I've done it some days in his absence. It takes 2 minutes to create a new event and c/p the attendee group into the "to" field. The bigger issue is chasing down the 10 people since ppl tend to not respond.

You can do that having a DID that calls back a script to create a group me account through the API, but I think it's only a matter of time until groupme RIP so if you want something sustainable you gotta pay

SMS will cost, signal wire is a little cheaper (for us numbers) but it will all depend on the application for something like this reminder system it's not a lot

My hopeful thinking that it will last a good while is since it is owned by Skype=microsoft who is very good about backwards compatiblity

Yossi, Thanks for cross-posting this. There is no minyan-sign-up element to this service. It strictly a mincha reminder service localized to your time zone with a reminder sent at Mincha Gedola (earliest time for mincha) and another reminder send at 15min prior to sunset.

This service was envisioned to help those like me that don't typically daven mincha with a minyan during the weekdays in the winter and therefore could easily forget (or end up doing a very (very) late) mincha.

Its a no-frills and l'shma service, meaning low bandwidth and zero intent on any commercialization of this service and list.
