I was talking about an award stay, sorry for not being clearer. I've read that award stays are harder to use them on depending on availability and hotel. Does the andaz 5th give problems more than ,say, 48lex?

You'll have a much harder time using them on an award stay, as they're officially only useable on paid stays. YMMV.

Hyatt upgrade certs are by their very definition in HGP confirmable prior to check-in.

I have a reservation at the Andaz 5th Ave. Hyatt card suites and a diamond member. I am going to see if they'll upgrade me to the two bedroom terrace suite. MSRP $3,000 per night.

Currently at Hyatt Regency Century Plaza on Diamond.  Called food and beverage, who at first told me she is very familiar with kosher and will have no problem ordering me breakfast in lieu of the club as the Diamond amenity.  F&B called back telling me since they have the Regency club and my rate does not include breakfast, they can not order me a kosher breakfast on credit... and now (literally as I am typing this) my wife tells me the drain to the shower is broken, ON THE PENTHOUSE FLOOR!!
