From my research, Andaz Maui offers breakfast (nothing for Kosher, so perhaps you can get some sort of compensation), a couple of bucks off the spa and no unique complimentary benefits.

Why nothing for kosher? I was there. Tons of fresh delicious fruit, Cereal, Milk, Cofee,Fresh squeezed Juices. It was delicious and filling.

I only said that because I was expecting someone to get on me and say that you could get comp if there's no kosher breakfast. Just pre-empting the challenge, although I wouldn't ask for comp myself.

Oh interesting. When I called she mentioned fruit (that's not enough of a breakfast for me) and eggs and cold cuts, so she missed out on mentioning cereal. But otherwise, although that sounds nice, it doesn't seem to compare to the breakfast AJK had at GHK.

true. I was just in the Sheraton Club in Towson last Thursday, and reminding myself that I like that spg plat perk more than the Hyatt Diamond breakfast perk.
(Now if they had that same breakfast spread at lunchtime or in the afternoon that would be a different story...)

yes -- the food part in comparison with Hyatt Diamond. my first year having both, so I compare to see what's more worthwhile to keep up for 5 yrs if I have to choose. (aiming for both this year -- almost halfway through)

When I was Diamond I added myself countless times to others reservations and they always got upgrades and breakfast.

How does "guaranteed availability" for Platinum/Diamond members work? It says that it's not guaranteed during busy times, but doesn't give more info. Anyone have success booking a room with this benefit before when rooms weren't available when searching online?

IME Always. If you are signed into your account, there should always be a room. I have gotten rooms when the hotel was overbooked. If there is none online, call.

Even with the guaranteed availability it's still not a sure thing. Every hotel gets a certain amount of days to say " to bad", even to diamond members. If I recall correctly I think they told me 5 days a year.

GH SZ the rack rate is 1881 RMB and the Guar rate is 2150 RMB

TPG had written that he called up once and read them the Hyatt T&Cs that say there are no blackout dates and by doing that he got PHP to open up space for him - although that's only when there's even a room to book with cash.
