very confusing Israeli Consulate does not seem sure about this just emailing back and forth going nowhere

I think if I am visiting Israel as a US citizen my less than 6 months validity on my US passport would be only a concern to Israel the country I am vising?

United via chat said should be no problem as long as my intended stay is within the valid US passport dates etc...

So I am not sure who would give me an issue if anybody at all?

Swiss air wouldn't let me board with 5 months left. I guess it's up to the airline and individual agents.
