can you transfer miles from one  tk acc to another?

I believe you need to have status for that.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

here's a doozy...
i was looking to book a domestic UA ticket for same-day travel on 7/30. it was 8pm MDT, flight at 11:59.
TK website was useless as usual, so i called to get it done.

interestingly, the agent said it was already 7/31 where he is (presumably Turkey), and the system wasn't letting him search 7/30. called back and got the same response.
West Coast ticketing offices had also closed by then, so calling them wouldn't have worked.

i realized this might not be a unique conundrum, but also apply to other airlines with weak, dysfunctional websites similar to TK.

any workaround for this system quirk?

TK showing 4 seats available at saver rates.

Start Alliance partners (AC, LifeMiles) were previously showing availability, but not showing now. Any chances of availability coming back to partners, or should I just book with TK?

yes, I've seen TK availability disappear & then return to partners a couple of days before a flight but YMMV

Sometimes the problem is just that it's blacked out when choosing a date on the calendar and if you change the date on your device, you can then choose the date. I don't know if this works specifically for TK though.

DP

When logging into an economy award flight NYC-IST-TLV Booked with 32K points, It had the offer to upgrade to J for 47K for both legs or 45k JFK-IST and 17.5K IST-TLV (no additional $).
When I tried doing it kept erroring out.
I called the reps all said they didn't see the combo offer but had the ability to upgrade to J for 45k JFK-IST and 17.5K IST-TLV.
I asked them to upgrade the segment JFK-IST but they still were getting an error. (I was using my points for a different pax)

I logged in to the TK app and only had the offer to upgrade to J 45k JFK-IST and 17.5K IST-TLV.
I tried to upgrade to J 45k JFK-IST and it worked!

This can be a good option when there is no saver award availability in J you get for 77K and economy YQ

1. Were you able to upgrade both legs?
2. This sounds like a good option, but what if an upgrade isn't offered? What's the cost to cancel?
3. How soon/far before the flight was the offer?

1. No (possible the issue was trying to use a different tk account)
2. I think cancellations cost just $25
3. I see it on flights in 7 days and in 37 days

Not sure about milage redemptions but with cash tickets it can range from 0-200 dollars
Something to keep in mind is that when you upgrade they put you in lowest available business so your cancellation fee may may go up

Deciding between the shortest possible layover (3 hrs) or the longest (8:10).

How long does one need to leave the airport to go to the old city?

Also, the website says that tickets with 8+ hr layover get a free tour, but the tour logo doesn't come up.

I'm not opposed to taking an Uber and walking around myself, but if 8hrs imst worth it, I would just opt for the shorter layover.

For context it's TLV-EWR, and all options land in EWR at the same time. The variable is how early the TLV-IST leg is. If I could get home faster, I would.

Any way to get through to the Israeli ticket office to cancel a Star Alliance EWR-TLV booking? I dont want to pay the fees with the call center. The israeli fees are significantly lower. I called and no one answers and I 've already emailed as well.
Fair warning - Any PMs sent in response to forum posts are fair game for ridicule in public.

If you are trying to cancel with Israeli law you need to send email to specific address
Make sure you keep a copy so you can show it when they claim you didn't send it
File with Israeli ministry of transportation and possibly with DOT for deceptive business practices transportation fraud

IMHO, spend a few more hours breathing the avirah d'aara and walking a bunch more sets of daled amos. (Sorry, I know nothing about Turkey.)

Not showing an Austrian Airlines flight that UA shows as a saver award.

Is that a bug or do they just not have the same inventory?

I finally got through to them and they charged $70 per ticket. I didnt have the strength to fight. Where can I file a complaint? Anyone have a link to the Israeli Ministry?
