No problem whatsoever.

To be safe, don't book tickets for 11 month in the future.

For now its all cool.

My brother traveled yesterday with a stop in IST with a yarmulke on.

No problem.

There is no danger in flying through Turkey. I recommend my clients to use Turkish as they often have low fares and their planes are new and comfortable. I have also flown through Turkey 4 times without incident. Their economy comfort product is also outstanding and affordable.

It is not an issue. Istanbul is a large western city rich in culture and history. It is not dangerous.

there is tension between Israel and Turkey, things can turn around any moment. Lots of nasty statements were made already.
If you want to save a few $ and hope that all stays safe, its a decision you need to make.
Some people value safety and would pay more to go via a friendly country.

Have a safe trip

It's like I always tell clients. AMM/IST have gotten a lot safer even since they banned rocket launchers in the airport

Definitely safer, but they still allow assault rifles

IF you look jewish (yes they can tell), and you want to visit Istanbul, stick to the touristic attractions.

However I don't push anyone into it. I don't make decisions for clients. What I tell them is that we've only got positive feedback about experiences, although its a personal feeling and no one can make you comfortable with it except yourself.
