Whats the best way to book J using UR on this? CSR 1.5 or a mileage transfer?
Depending on revenue fare vs. mileage availability for the dates you’re looking at.

Is there more saver award space on TK metal through their own FF program than other *A programs?
I'm not seeing any award space on UA.com for the route that I need but seeing plenty on TK.com

I thought it would, as I have been using lifemiles to book TK in J quite a few times, and I always found some flights that sometimes do not show on UA.

Do you all search also with ANA?  I always see lots on there that isn't on UA website.

Does ANA also charge fuel surcharges on United? They charge only 60k RT NYC-TLV in economy.

TK has saver space that sometimes shows only on their own website as well as Asian partners (such as ANA, SQ, etc.) that doesn't show up on European and American partners.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

If a flight booked in one ticket is from TLV-SAW, then from IST to JFK, do you have to arrange your own transfer? And do suitcases transfer automatically?
I'm not who you think I am.

you have to arrange your own transfer & you will need a visa, depending which passport you have.

And suitcases don't get transferred automatically.

Is it bookable over the phone with UA?

I presume that with the New Istanbul Airport that transfer takes longer.

Just FYI, they often have 4-6 Business class seats to TLV out of ORD, BOS and Atlanta. I just booked J seats for Sukkot for my family. I know most of you are in NYC but lots of others aren’t so make sure to check those cities. Only 104k RT PP from ANA in J  and yes some fees but so few points and enough seats for my whole family over Sukkot that it was a no-brainer for me. :)

I booked myself on TK for next week, hoping to be able to review the new airport, just to discover that the move was pushed off to March after I ticketed.  :(

Then I saw https://www.businesstraveller.com/business-travel/2019/01/23/turkish-confirms-new-long-haul-business-class-seat/ which is another reason to hope to fly TK some time in the future.

Thanks for posting this. I saw Lucky posted about this as well.  Have you seen anywhere about what routes will be getting these new planes?
