I wonder how much revenue they made for selling miles to Citi/Cap1/Marriott, do they realize this will now go down by about 90%?
https://www.dansdeals.com/points-travel/milespoints/record-high-bonus-transfer-citi-points-turkish-airlines-get-50-bonus-fly-alaska-hawaii-7700-points-coach-11-k-points-first-class/

Reverse your devaluation and there would be no need for transfer bonuses.

It's a crappy promotion though, the bonus miles won't post until 6/15.

It's really not, though. Even with the T&C applied. It's a fantastic bonus ok TK miles.

Sure on like 6/13 with a hold. Anything before then and it's a major risk.
I just spent an hour on the phone last night with some seriously uninformed TK agents. Had a flight booked on 12/31 that they never fully ticketed. Kept saying it wasn't on their end and the story changed 4 times. I wish iphone had phone recording capabilities.

From MEAB:

The Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles Visa card has been unveiled in the US:
https://uscards.turkishairlines.com/premier?

– 40,000 bonus miles after $3,000 spend in 90 days
– 2x on dining, groceries, entertainment, and hotels
– $99 annual fee, not waived the first year.

I think the card is only interesting because it is issued by First Electronic Bank. When a bank you’ve never heard of issues a card, it’s usually a green light for shenanigans because (1) their systems are different than big bank systems, (2) smaller banks usually have interesting payment methods, and (3), if you’re shutdown by First Electronic Bank, literally who cares?

If as @Dan says you are their worst customer would anyone find it still objectionable getting this  CC ?

Airlines make a lot more getting card signups than they do from a 6K mileage transfer to book a flight on American.

Ethical dilemma would be worse pre-deval though.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

What would make this card interesting for you? Very low signup bonus, no benefits for the annual fee.

Just booked United flights using TK points and I received confirmation from TK along with listing of the UA flights and TK ticket numbers/confirmation number for all passengers. I did not receive a United confirmation number...is this normal? I spoke to a UA rep and they do not see me on the flights that I booked through TK and cannot locate anything without either a UA confirmation or UA ticket number. I spoke several times with TK on this and they just assured me that there is no UA confirmation number and that I cannot manage flight until check-in? This all sounds kind of wrong given I have always received a confirmation number from source of originating airline program and then a separate one for the carrier that I physically flying on.
I am worried the tickets were processed incorrectly causing United to not accept or see the reservation from TK and from what reviews I hear from TK agents and CS I am very concerned on what to do next given my points were processed along with the taxes by TK already.

Anyone else have this experience? If so, what would be the best way to handle moving forward from here?

Thank you in advance.

HUCA. There is always a United confirmation number. The right agent will be able to find it.
PM me for a good deal on flights

Thats what I figured....I am about 12 HUCA`s in so far and no end in sight. Hopefully someone on the TK side can fix ticket and have it fully ticketed or at least provide the full refund so I can start again from scratch and hopefully find a competent agent to input the flight properly. They even told me the flight are non-refundable even under the 24 hour rule since it was booked through the call center instead of doing it online? I wasnt able to complete online given we are a party of 6 and the online portal is limited to only 5 tickets per search.

I had a similar experience with LOT airlines. They claimed that Turkish used a different booking system and didn’t book it correctly. Took a few calls to Turkish until someone booked it correctly and gave me the correct confirmation number for LOT. Even then LOT had to look in a different spot for the itinerary. I would think you need a United confirmation. Try asking for a manager. When I did that they were finally able to correct it.

United can locate it with date, flight number and name if it's actually in their system, just tell them you don't have your confirmation number and you'd like to get it

4 days in....lost count of feedback numbers. I wonder if I just book 3 passengers at a time x2 online if it would have the same human error issues I seem to be having with the call center? Problem is, now they say I am not entitled to a refund under the 24 hour rule since I made reservation through the call center as opposed to online (which I couldn't either way since we are a party of 6 and they limit the online reservations to 5 passengers....).

United can locate it with date, flight number and name if it's actually in their system, just tell them you don't have your confirmation number and you'd like to get it

Tried that several times with different UA CS....name does not even appear on any reservations for the TK listed United flights I booked. I suspect never processed properly on TK side.

How did you get in touch with a TK manager? Was it from the call center or feedback CS? I asked both departments and said they are not authorized and would have to just wait while they open a new feedback case that seems to go no where?

Regular CS. I should say that I never actually SPOKE to a manager. After arguing with the regular rep for about 15 minutes I demanded to speak to a manager. The rep said ok please hold then went away for about 10 minutes. When he returned he told me that it was all done. I obviously didn't believe him but when I spoke to LOT they were finally able to find it.

Have you considered filing a DOT complaint? Sounds like you got a confirmation and the miles deducted from TK but they haven't provided you with a usable ticket.

EDIT: I just remembered that I had also booked a United flight for November 2024. I just logged in to my account and I was able to locate the PNR using my last name and booking reference number from the TK confirmation email. So yeah, it should definitely work on United's website if it's a valid ticket.

I never dealt with TK before this so I was not sure if this was normal experience. Never considered DOT complaint as the timetable to respond would prob not help our my situation regardless and also was hoping I could have found someone to resolve it at this point. I guess will give it a few more HUCA before I go the DOT route. Thank You.

I was thinking of booking Turkish to uman in September but a bit concerned as I have a very visibly Jewish name
Any thoughts on whether I should fly in Turkish or choose a different airline?
