Next chapter?

Quote
The tipping point came on Aug. 1, when Ramaphosa, bending to the populist faction of his party, announced that he would seek a constitutional amendment to allow expropriation of land without compensation.

Sigh, who knows
Such a shame really
Didn't expect it to turn south so quick
Ramaphosa is being held hostage by the populist elements (though it doesn;t sound like he minds very much)
(also not unlike certain US politicians and parties)
Definitely gonna get interesting one way or another

Seems like the world is being swept with some wave of populism (a pendulum swing from the extremes of globalism) as I might have indicated in this thread and possibly elsewhere. Kind of the opposite of this.

So what's the latest? I just got word today that the main opposition party was suffering from a meltdown. What's that all about?

Here's Stan the Good Shabbos Man's take on the DA's problems

There are ‘Humungous’ problems with the DA (Desperate Alliance) and the Balabos Mmusi Maimane is hanging by a thread, which is such a pity, as everyone was behind him, BUT….with the ‘Old Guard’ of the DA wanting control again, there is big Tzorris, and Methinks that letting ‘Tannie’ Helen Zille back in is a GROOOOOT problem, as she has rubbed the voters up the wrong way, and once she retired from the Party, she should have remained retired…. The ‘Old’ Ganser Balabos, Tony Leon has also been giving his advice, and it will become a racist thing, and eventually there will only be the EFF left, and that is even a bigger problem……and the Mayor of Joburg, Herman Mashaba handed in his resignation shortly after ‘Godzilla’ was elected, and came out strongly saying that he resigned due to her coming back, and was congratulated by Mmusi …what a dumb thing for Mmusi to do….and the Mayor not more than 6 months made a twitter report stating that Helen was the best and definitely not racist….So go figure…???? The problem is that the DA will lose the City of Joburg, and more and more votes, unless they can do some Seriaaaaaaaaas damage control….. Really looking bleak, and with all this nonsense of letting her back, they could lose Slaaaaaaapstad next time around…..Patricia De Lille must be ‘Kleibing Nachus’……. And yesterday, the ‘Brave’ Mmusi Maimane also reigned from the DA, to leave the DA in a GROOOOOOOT mess, and unfortunately, besides the EFF. There is NO opposition anymore, to keep a watch on the Men from the Ministry……. The DA ‘old guard’ got this totally wrong, and the DA ( Desperate Alliance) is finish….. https://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/News/outgoing-joburg-mayor-herman-mashaba-is-a-friend-and-hero-da-leader-mmusi-maimane-20191021
