Suggestions for a 2 - 2.5 week trip in August
« on: July 05, 2011, 02:54:25 PM »
I was planning on touring Europe but decided it's too expensive. I've been to Israel the past two summers so that's probably out. My newest thought was the West Coast but I've been to LA two times in the past. Any suggestions for a relatively inexpensive vacation? Minyanim are also necessary although a drive to one is fine

Maybe try Denver and the rocky mountains and Las Vegas. I would highly recommend the  Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion and maybe some other national parks, but if Minyanim are me'akev then those are a no go.

What's there to do in Denver? Vegas is out because I'm not 21. I was thinking of including the Grand Canyon in the West Coast trip but heard it's really hot in the summer. Minyanim are very important.

Can't do Grand Canyon with minyan. It's hot but well worth it, if you get an early start (read 5 AM after vasikin) it's not so bad.
Not so much to do in Denver but it is right near the Rocky mountains. I went white water rafting, golfing, bike riding, etc...

Why not drive from San Diego up to San Fransisco on Route 1. There are plenty of places to stop at and things to do all along the way....it can easily be made into a two week trip if you spend time in LA and do the sights...

It's a very strong possibility. Does anyone know of good deals for convertibles? Doesn't have to be a Mustang or Corvette but I'd rather not a Solara.

I think the preferred routing is from SFO down to LAX as opposed to going up to SFO.

Should'nt be too big of a deal to find a cheap mustang.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

That's the direction I want to go. I looked at a few sites...what's considered cheap?

How many days are you looking to rent?

Probably 1-2. I figured I'll just get a regular car for the rest of the trip.
