We spent 8 days in Scotland this summer, covering most of the country. Glasgow by far was the least interesting. On the day we flew from Glasgow to Iceland for leg 2 of our trip, we spent a few hours at the art museum (building more interesting than its collection), the maritime sailing museum, and the indoor skiing (which is even smaller than the one in Dubai, but still fun to do for an hour or two, unless you normally ski blacks, in which case it will be boring). I don't recall seeing or hearing about a ferris wheel there in the summer.

The military tattoo is absolutely amazing and one of the highlights of our trip; I've never seen anything like it, and the setting in front of the castle, with fireworks at the end, was phenomenal. Cheap tickets sell out early, so make sure to book early if you're planning to go. In the show, there were no women singing, but there are women dancing in groups in various parts of the show.

How much were tickets and what time does it start?
Can you see the fireworks display from elsewhere in the city?

When we were in Scotland several years ago, all the kosher food was in Glasgow (Mark's Deli), though we spent a lovely Shabbos with Rabbi Pinny at Chabad of Edinburgh. Check out: https://www.chabadofedinburgh.com/

Chabad had a kiddush/lunch situation that worked. There's no eruv, but we stayed with him walking distance so it wasn't too bad. In terms of the food delivery from glasgow, they deliver anyways every two weeks. I had them make meals for us and had them delivered to our hotel on the week they were coming, and the hotel was happy to store them for us. If not, they will always deliver anytime you would like for a fee. The food was good, easily reheatable, and perfect for what we needed.

Hi, planning a two day trip to Scotland for July. Looking for help planning itinerary. No distelleries. Love adventure and the outdoors but also some castles. And any Jewish history if there is. Any suggestions? Not going with any kids
