Where is the best hotel to stay for Shabbos?  Is it better to eat in Chabad or in the restaurant Hanna?  How many days do you need to spend in Hungary?
Hungary is a fairly large country... how much time would depend on your interests.

I stayed at the Continental, it is decent. You just have to request to disable the sensors in the hallways.
Carmel is more upscale, more expensive. Hanna is authentic Hungarian, and cheaper.
Continental is not comparable to any of the high end hotels that will also accommodate for shabbos. Its location is possibly better but you're talking about the diffeence between a 5 minute walk and a 10 minute walk.

Carmel has better food but is more of an Israeli style restaurant with some Hungarian dishes. The quality of the Hanna food has deteriorated drastically over the years. The service has as well.

Ive been going to Budapest for over 20 years and I wouldnt walk into Hanna anymore.

I went to Carmel. I wasn't impressed. Left hungry and then went to Ashi's Israeli Street Food. Very good and well priced.

Hi, I'm travelling to Budapest for a conference and will be there from June 29 to July 4. Since my schedule is linked to a conference and any meetings that pop-up each day, I won't know what my day will look like. I'm trying to figure out how to manage the food situation and whether I will need to bring a lot of food with me. Reading through the last few pages of this thread I have a few questions.

1. What would be the option for shabbos meals since I'm on my own (but have a company credit card to cover meals)?
2. Do any of the kosher restaurants deliver?
3. Are there any reliable kosher restaurants that do not require a reservation?
4. How late can a reservation be made? would a few hours before, the day of be possible?
5. any other kosher food tips, recommendations for a kosher business traveler on their own?

thanks!

I was told the Dohany but it was built after he died so it could just be a general ban on all Neolog shuls. The Dohany was Neolog.

A museum and concert venue. I dont believe there are any services held there. Also, there is a cemetery in the courtyard.

You can visit the museum and memorials without entering the synagogue.

I don't see my trips as pointless even though I don't visit churches which for many travelers are a main attraction.
I don't see my trips as pointless even though I don't get to culturally immerse because I only eat kosher.

Its a memorial /was used as a mass grave in the ghetto.
FYI last time I was there they still had fri night services so it is a functioning temple
p.s. dohany rabbi came one day to mincha by kazincy - almost like conservative rabbis of 50 yrs ago..

They have offically 3 times daily, but they have a handful of people, usually not more.

They are getting more money from the government than Kazincy or Chabad, which helps them function.

It's a Reform temple. Meaning destroyers of the genuine Jewish religion.
