Were a group of Bachurim heading to Budapest tomorrow for about 36 hours. Any ideas how to best utilize our time?

Landing in BUD next week for 3 nights. Anyone have any idea what to do in these 3 days (besides Kerestir) ?
I think 3 days is tooo long. Any advice would be appreciated. (should we sleep in Kerestir or BUD ?)

Plenty to do. I go for 3 days most times that I go. I'm usually there for kivrei avos and business so I visit Kvarim. Besides Keristir there is Mad, Ujhel, Kalev, Ufeherto (Ratzfert), Csenger. You can go to Romania as well (Satmar & Sighet). West of Budapest is Bratislava (Pressburg) and Vienna. Plenty to do there too.

In Budapest you have Castle Hill, Parliament, Andrassi ut, Heroes Square, National Museum, Danube river tours and much more.

I've always stayed in Budapest. Make sure you make reservations for food in Keristir if it is your intention to eat there as there is no more "free" all you can eat food. Its all "VIP" made to order.

You can't mention Kerestir, Ujhel, and Mad, and leave out Olaszliska. :)

True story...I've never been. In 30 years of going, probably been in Keristir 50 times. Never been to Liska once. :-)

That is quite shocking, to be honest. What would Reb Shayale himself say?

In all fairness it was dangerous back in the day. That colored my entire relationship with that location. I doubt he would have a cross word to say.

That must have been really back in the day.

I can't imagine Reb Shayale not saying anything about people not going to his Rebbe (especially when it's 10 minutes away).

Hmm, interesting, I was there first about 20 years ago, and I didn't have any issues.

Does one phone or mail to reserve ? I heard Friedlander is good. Do you have their phone nr?
We'll be going to Kerestir. Not to other Kevorim. Then BUD as you write. Do you have more ideas what to visit? 3 days seem too long to me....
Thanks for the tips !

I dont have numbers for either place. As @yelped suggests, Liska is 10 minutes from Keristir and Ujhel is not too far either. Go explore the city. Its safe and there is plenty to see in the city. Keristir is a full day to and from the city.

I know people who had problems there not that long ago. Isn't Liska a gypsy town?

I guess you just have to have a DO with me there. I never had any issues with anyone.

I don't know what Zionism is, I just discuss Jews living in EY. ;)

As I said, I wasn't there in a long time, too, should probably go again.
