Notes:
Avoid Euronet ATMs at tourist sites. Use bank ATMs. Always decline the "exchange guarantee" the ATM operator is offering you, choose local currency, your own bank will have a better exchange rate than what the ATM is offering you. The ATM "exchange guarantee" is a scam and hidden fee that should be avoided.

First time I'm hearing this. Never had an issue.
Do you speak Hungarian? You probably dont even realize it if you dont.

I've had that more then once in Brooklyn, it could happen anywhere. In general Budapest isn't anti-Semitic.

Walked around Budapest with my tzitis out and my kipa showing. Never felt threatened.
In general, I think that eastern Europe is safer for Jews due to (lack of) certain demographics.

In regards to shabbos, does anyone know if the corinthia hotel or the courtyard marriott have sensors/electric eye at the entrance?  Is there a manual door?

corinthia - Only room doors are electronically opened. Ask for room accessible via stairs. Most are IIRC.

The "Bronze shoe holocaust memorial on the bank of the Danube" is on the Pest side two blocks south of the Parliament.

I would add Dohány Street Synagogue to the wiki even if you don't go inside.

Uber pulled out of Hungary thanks to legislation that made it impossible for them to continue. Another app Taxify offers alternative to traditional taxis in Budapest. /I have no personal experience with Taxify/

There are several Danube river cruises. AFAIK, at least the one I took left from the Pest side, from Vigadó téri Hajóállomás. It's a few steps away from Vorosmarty ter (which is also a tourist spot). Vigadó tér is a nice square as well.

In the summer the artists' village of Szentendre makes a nice half-day tour from Budapest. You can take a cruise there as well, or take the train from Batthyány Square.

In Buda the entire castle area is nice to walk around. The Fisherman's Bastion, which is where all tourist flock to and where they stared charging an entrance fee is the most annoying part of the entire castle. A few blocks away is the remains of a synagogue from the middle ages that was used by Syrian Jews during the Ottoman occupation. Yes, hold your hat, Hungary had mostly Sephardi Jews at that time. address: Táncsics Mihály u. 26

Bécsi kapu, or Vienna Gate used to be called Zsidó kapu (Jewish Gate) for a reason.
if you are so inclined, it's good to read Megillat Ofen by R. Yichak ben Zalman Schulhof (his father was the dayan of Prague) about the siege of 1686 before taking this walk.

Széchényi Chain Bridge is definitely something to see as well.

There are kevarim closer to Budapest than eastern Hungary. Vac is a 45 minutes drive to the north. ר׳ ישעי׳ זילבערשטיין זצ״ל אב״ד ווייצען is buried there.
