Avoid Euronet ATMs at tourist sites. The ATM "exchange guarantee" is a scam and hidden fee that should be avoided.

I will be in Budapest in mid January for about a day and a half. Does anyone know any cheap hotels?
What are the main places I should see?
Are there any kevorim nearby?
Thanks

If you're looking to stay near kosher restaurants and shul in Budapest, then check out "Hotel Gozsdu Court" it's cheap nice apartments, right around the corner.

Budapest is really divided into two parts, Buda and Pest. Hilton Budapest Centre is in Buda which is the city part. Hilton Budapest is in Pest which is hilly and the castle side of Budapest. If you want to be closer to the shuls and restaurants than Hilton Budapest City Centre is definitely much closer.

I think the ticket is for both, but you don't have to enter the Synagogue if you don't want to.
4500 Ft = 17 USD

No, you get everything for less in the US especially if you wait for a sale or buy online.
Bring some paprika (if you use it) or souvenir, that's about it.

You can get fabric tablecloths and doilies, too. Not necessarily cheaper, but made in Hungary and a souvenir.

Most people that are aware, don't go in. I've heard from people that told them that their Grandparents attended the synagogue, and they allowed them to enter for free.
