Big picture; many of us have become spoiled by Amazon but the bad news is that if Amazon beats (bankrupts) its competition then they'll be able to charge whatever they like in the marketplace and it won't be good for us. It's only good and healthy when there's competition. It's just as important to support other retailers.

Regarding shoes; find a brand that fits you and stop complaining about free returns. I wear Johnston and Murphy shoes and know my size and have never had to return a pair. Not that hard guys.

sorry but the online show business took off when places like zappos started offering free returns.  you can't expect to sell shoes with out ppl trying them on.  Amazon may spoil us with free returns on things like electronics where you know what you're getting but clothes and shoes don't work if you can't return or at least exchange

Zappos specializes in selling shoes and Amazon specializes in taking over the world (though you'd be loathe to admit it).

But in the meantime, not all styles of the same brand fit the same way. Likewise, the same style may change over the year or so since you bought it last.
