The pixel? Was an excellent device.
It maybe didn't sell well. But it was and still is a solid phone.

Get someone with a Verizon plan that can do it for you.  Total cost to "upgrade" on a Verizon plan is $150+tax (24 x $5 monthly installment + $30 upgrade fee).

Non-issue for me. I keep on rolling my data month to month, don't even use up 3gb, and most months don't use up even 2gb.

Don't think you can do that since the way that it works is that Verizon charges full price and then has a bill credit to get it down to $5. Therefore, can't just pay down the $120 to get the phone off Verizon.

Not sure that will work as it says it's a bill credit. You have to read the fine print and finance document to see if buyout is 120 or much more as I suspect.

Yeah I believe you need to have the phone on VZW for the full 24 months in order to get the full credit.
