Because my computer desk only fits a 19 to 22 inch screen.
I can get the exact measurements and post back here in a couple minutes.
Take something like this Sceptre monitor, has built-in speakers.

If you can go with the 22" I'd root for it, but they have a 20" as well.

(For the built-in speaker to work you'll probably need to connect the computer to the monitor with the HDMI and not the VGA (does the computer have HDMI output?)

I don't know how measurements work when buying screens but the dimensions of my computer desk is 19 -1/2 by 19 in tall.

Assuming that means the most I can fit would be a 19 inch screen or when measuring diagonally you can put a bigger screen?

FWIW the size of the monitor is determined by drawing a diagonal line across the screen. So a 22" monitor is not 22" wide.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

And the exact diagonal measurement is usually rounded up...

That was understood, I just wanted to know when I have 19in wide space will that a fit a 20 inch screen?
Hence for @Yisroel Tech  providing the dimensions. Thanks guys.

What do you guys recommend for a 19inch monitor with an attachable speaker or built-in speaker screen?

Or do most new screens come without a speaker? And I'll need to attach a speaker separately?
Definitely not a new screen but this is what I use in my house. https://www.ebay.com/itm/163643406192

It measures 17 x 17.5 with the stand. The actual screen space is 15x12. But it only has a VGA port so I have to plug in a 3.5mm to the computer

I personally like the older narrow screens as opposed to the new widescreen monitors. It just weighs a ton

My Tapatalk notifications don't always work.

I'm a bit confused one description says this measurement and then in the bullet point it says your measurement.

HDMI, VGA build-in speakers. Dimensions With Stand (Inch, W x H x D) - 19.92 x 15.09 x 7.02, Without Stand (inch, W x H x D)- 19.92 x 11.92 x 1.45

(For the built-in speaker to work you'll probably need to connect the computer to the monitor with the HDMI and not the VGA (does the computer have HDMI output?)
Ordered this, now I see in the box an HDMI cord and then a spot for the VGA cord, while I could get the screen to power on when connecting to the HDMI so used my old VGA and have the screen working, now I don't have sound.
Looked in the comments, seems you can either use the HDMI which I'm not sure how that would work or 3.5mm Aux wire, which I'm not sure why they couldn't include it and why such a short wire to power the screen?

Quote
If you’re using HDMI, go to the sound settings:

Windows:
Look for the speaker icon in the bottom right (by the clock)
Right-click it
Click output/speaker
Find the HDMI interface (usually will say the name of the unit)
Right click and set as default.

If not using HDMI:
You need a 3.5mm (AUX) cable. One end in the headphone jack from the pc (usually green) and the other end to the back of the monitor marked input.

How can I use the HDMI alone?

HDMI carries audio along with the video in the same single cable.

Will try it tomorrow and see what happens, when I originally tried it the screen didn't come on, could be I didn't put it to the right setting.

Maybe you need to change the source on the screen.

Also, make sure that this is the only video connector connected both on the screen and on the PC.

Any Aux wire would work or specifically those with the green ends?

Or would this suffice?
