Air Canada Baggage for Star Alliance

It seems that AC changed their baggage policy for Star Alliance Gold members. Prior to September 25th, Star Alliance gold members were able to take three 70 pound bags on flights from YYZ to TLV for example. Now it seems they are only allowing two 50 lb bags. I discussed this with an agent, and she said if the ticket was purchased prior to Sep 25 2107, the allowance should remain three 70 lb bags. Seemingly this is another squeeze on frequent flier benefits.

does start alliance gold still get 2 50lb? On AC site it says only 1 50lb
