Getting paid to add user to Credit Card
« on: July 12, 2011, 11:38:30 AM »
My friend told me about this idea that he does (with someone out in California) and he said he has gotten paid every month since he joined about 8 months ago. I found this site that does it (not necessarily the site I would use but they explain how it works )  http://www.legalcpn.com/authorized_user_rentals.html

Has anyone tried this idea and had success with it?

I tried searching the forum but found nothing.

Thanks

There isn't mentioned a word in that article regarding what will happen if that person doesn't pay you, and they don't mention at all security options.

looks like they're selling it to people with bad credit, to help boost their score by piggybacking on your card. (you never actuallygive the card)
what would that do to the primary's credit? do you suffer when you add an AU who has bad credit?

just would point out that they way overdo capitalizing words on that site. bad grammar=fraud flag

Someone I know (I promise I don't mean me) made many hundreds of dollars doing this with a different company (that is now out of business). Basically a credit wh0re ::)

Disclaimer: I am not vouching for this company, tread very lightly when offering strangers your personal information.

Thanks for all the responses. Again, the site that I provided is NOT the company I would use. they are strictly a website I found to help describe the idea.

Ashero, for your friend that did it, did he come across any negative issues when he was making all the money?

He didn't specify any, so I'm assuming not. But then again, he wasn't a heavy churner.

You would be very surprised as to what information Citi has given to me as an AU, heck forget information, I have added an AU when I myself was an AU... All it takes is a little social engineering. :)

Yup, that scares me sometimes. Those Asian outsources CS agents can be so stupid (and gullible) at times, it's scary...

bd address?

Most of these services don't even tell their client whose account they are on, and that info (or even the full acct. #) isn't on the credit report. The masses are probably not out there to get you, but obviously if you have any concerns/fears you don't have to go down this path.
