Now you have to ask to spend money with them...looks like they're winning the battle for world domination

I heard a segment this morning on Bloomberg where Tom Keene asked his guest (I think it was the
author of this book) how much bigger Amazon will be five years from now. The guest ran through a scenario of Amazon taking over each and every aspect of our lives, with an Alexa butler doing everything for us (just say that you want a party for 7 people, and Alexa will handle everything), to the extent that the government will end up breaking up Amazon, hence it will be a smaller company five years from today.
It got me thinking to what extent are Apple, Amazon, Facebook and Google a part of almost everyone's life.
Amazon is totally inescapable, due to AWS.
At first I thought that I have nothing to do with Facebook, but then I remembered that they own WhatsApp.
Almost everyone has a Gmail address, and they own Waze, along with so many other technologies and patents.
Not sure about Apple. Ever since I switched to an iPhone I've gained more respect for the company, but I'm not so sure they are an integral part of everyone's life, as much as the other 3 are, for people that aren't part of the Apple ecosystem, like I was for many years.
