American Change the time of my flight..Now what
« on: December 08, 2017, 03:26:58 PM »
American changed the time of an upcoming flight (April time) and made it 2 hours later. I wanted to be in earlier than later so this is problematic. I purchased the ticket through British using Avios...I called British airways today and they said they would change me to any flight I want for that day, appologized for the time change...When we found flights, they were unable to do so bc American hasent given any reward availabilty for any other flights for that day to British so they are "locked" out and cant do anything for me.  I contacted American and they said bc I booked it through another carier, they cant make any changes and only the other carier can. Ive been arguing with American via twitter and customer service, and I am not getting anywhere.  Any suggestions? I cant cancel as flights are way too expensive now, and there are no reward flights on that day...really unfair IMO to change a time and not offer an earlier flight if there are seats available, which there are plenty.

Very hard situation to fix without making a LOT of HUCA.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Yup. Ticketing carrier complains operating carrier hasn't released availability; operating carrier cries they're not the ticketing carrier. One of the toughest issues in the mileage biz to fix, though this issue is a bit easier since it seems like a nonstop domestic. Even more difficult when involves international flights with connections.

What route are you flying?

April is in a really long time.. There’s a decent chance that AA will open up more Saver / Partner space (in the coming days / weeks / months) on a flight that works better for you and then call BA to switch it for free.

IME the best way to get this done is the HUCA AA. It may take a few calls but you'll find someone who wants to help you. They will likely have to conference in BA but it's doable.
