Topic Wiki

There are two different types of hyatt nights. Sign Up Nights (referred to as "SUN"s) and anniversary nights. The sign up nights are from when you sign up for the hyatt credit card. The anniversary night are given to you if you keep the credit card after the first year. You get one anniversary night every year. The sign up nights can be used for any hyatt hotel in the world on any date where a Standard Room is available. The anniversary nights can only be used in hyatt hotels categories 1-4 (Notable category 4 hyatt hotels: Hyatt regency mission bay, San Diego Ca. Andaz peninsula papagayo, Costa Rico.). Obviously the sign up nights are more valuable as they can be used in any hotel worldwide. The way somebody would book this night for you is they would put you as a second guest on the reservation. It is not recommended to combine nights between 3 different accounts or more. Or 2 accounts that none is yours. Obviously any reservation from a diamond account is more valuable since you will get the benefits as a second guest.

Suite Upgrades:

Can be applied to any reservation whether cash, C &P or all points. It must be booked out of the Globalist Account. The Globalist must be the primary on the reservation as well. One DSU (They are actually called TSUs now) works for up to 7 days on a consecutive reservation for the base suite only. Before asking to buy one please check and make sure that the standard suite is available online to save everyone time. When you click on the suite description it will say if the suite is standard or premium if it is standard you can use the TSU if not, you cannot.

Select premium suites can now be booked for double points per night as well.

TSUs cannot be applied to free night certificates for some reason.

Some sellers prefer not to sell TSUs for international reservations as international Hyatts are well know for asking for the account holder to show up in order to give Globalist benefits. Maybe we should make a list of international hotels that are ok with it but that is a YMMV

Other benefits you receive when using a TSU: Free Breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children, 4 PM late checkout, no resort fees on any stay and free parking on award stays only

Per forum rules both buyers and sellers must post a price

Why stay there?
Had Hyatt to burn and this seemed like the better  option.

Especially because of;
I take it back anyway, the GH is a cat 6.
The HR HKG is a cat 4 and is not a shabbos friendly hotel. There are several better options in HKG.
Seems like a great location for a PH.

Anyone want to do me a big favor (could be a good way to extend your year to use free Hyatt nights)?

I just signed up and received a Hyatt card and will hopefully have the 2 free nights in the next few weeks. I would like to use the free nights in 2 weeks and doubt that I will be credited that quickly (unless anyone thinks otherwise).

Would anyone be willing to let me use their free nights and I will get them back to you as soon as they are credited to my account?

I just received the credit card, so still need to spend the 1k (which I hope to do in the next several days) and then have it credited.

Agree with YYZ
Meh. I've found sub $200 government rates (and been asked for id) at that property. And that allows stay credit, points earnings, and suite upgrades.

If you have gov't ID?

A GM told me that he blocked my stay in a suite and I don't need to burn suite award upgrades. Score!

Anyway to confirm that I'm in a suite?

Can you extend Hyatt Card Free Night Award?
« Reply #1254 on: February 23, 2014, 08:07:51 PM »
Has anyone been able to extend Hyatt Card Free Night Awards?  I have 2 Hyatt Card Free Night Awards good at any Hyatt Hotel or Resort Worldwide & both expire on 28 FEB.  (don't state the obvious, I know :-[...) & wondering if anyone has luck with: 1) extending expiration date , 2) making reservation prior to expiration for a date after expiration or 3)????    HELP! :-*

Email Hyatt gold passport and request an extension.

They should give you a month or two.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Dan & sawlw:  thanks, I just sent a nice message to Hyatt asking for exception.  So busy on weekends w/kids soccer, basketball, Cub/Boy Scouts it's just really difficult to find time to use the free nights....I'd really like to put 'em up in a nice place even if it's a local staycation! :)

Wife & daughter are going in June.  Me & boys will not go this year as we couldn't find 5 award seats on ANA.  I've found out I'm much, much better at acquiring miles/points than spending them.  Wife needs to take over the spending of the points/miles.  I moved 27K MR Points to ANA & now they have fuel surcharge again....so these 2 ladies will use UAL Miles on ANA for fuel surcharge free travel for 5 weeks in summer.  We'll then use 275K to book 2015 summer trip to Japan for all of us.  It'll be about $2K in fuel surcharge + points but that's still a great deal compared to about $11K to buy the tix.
