you will have to check out and check in again if they are separate reservations from 2 people unless you can somehow convince them that they should be combined without telling them you are buying the nights..

In a similar position. I need 3 nights. I assume the best way to handle this is as follows:

1) Fellow DDF'er creates a reservation for 2 nights with 2 anniversary or free night certs (hopefully you get someone who has 2). Fellow DDF'er adds your name as a secondary person on the room.
2) You show up **before** the other DDF'er and you check in for 2 nights
3) Get another DDF'er to sell you more certs.
4) Repeat steps 1 and 2 with your spouses name.
