Can anything go wrong with doing this? As the second guest, do you have full access like the person who booked (i.e. would you be able to call as yourself and ask for an upgrade etc.)?

what is the standard procedure for the free night sales? payment upfront? after stay? on the(small) chance there's a problem with check-in, who bears the loss?
Can someone fill me in on how this USUALLY goes down? TY

I have done payment upfront with both buying and selling. I never had a problem with checkin.

Same here did upfront. Though I think it should be half upfront half upon completion of reservation if it's in a reasonable amount of time.

to me, this seems fair, though whoever i buy from, i would wanna find a person we both know (the degrees of seperation in the jewish world is soooo small) and have them hold or vouch for each side. anyone tried this?

I've never verified a seller and have done thousands in sales via DDF. Use your own judgment.

generally the basic room needs to be available. You can call and ask about the hotel you are curious about. Blackout dates if there are any would be hotel specific. I got told I could not use the nights at the park hyatt new york for 3/4 of the first four available nights when they open as they were blocked by the hotel from award reservations even though there were rooms available for purchase

Have 6 nights in standard room booked in GHK for 2 weeks from now but I want to cancel and upgrade to suites- looking to book on someone's diamond account w/ suite upgrade.

My other option is to use my 2 free nights and use the 50k pts that saves me to book upgrade. Asked Chase to rush my newly approved Hyatt credit card and will spend the $1000 spending asap on the day I get the card in order to get the 2 free nights but I'm nervous they won't post in time . Anyone willing to trade their 2 free nights with me so I can book in time for my trip in 2 weeks and I will give them my 2 free nights as soon as they post (which will be available for use for a whole nother year;)?
