Hmm, and if I end up not getting upgraded, would you say the Andaz 5th is worth $200 a night? (IIRC you stayed there.)

I can't comment on any other room, but the Splash Suite was one of the nicest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in, so if you can get that one, heck ya.

Not necessarily true. Even as an addt'l guest, simply flashing his diamond card may sway the check in agent.
