Are they from two separate accounts? Make two separate, back-to-back bookings and then ask Hyatt customer service to combine them into one. Or ask the concierge to combine both bookings into one when you check into the hotel.

Not necessarily. It should work fine if his name is on both reservations.

Not really. Even though you can’t sell certificates, you CAN use them to book a room for someone else (perhaps a relative?). The policy is practically not very enforceable.
