No it has a expiration date but has nothing to do with the card. Again why downgrade just cancel and churn.

My understanding is that having a credit-card open for a long time increases your credit score, while repeated opening and closing of credit cards decreases the score. However, you would want to decrease your credit limit on those open but unused cards to allow for new credit cards to be opened.

also can others chime in here; how is the Hyatt card churnable when Chase cards are usually not, and with Chase's recent rule that you can't have five or more new cards within the past two years. what's been the success rate in the "recent" months?
