IME the hotel cannot see who is the primary guest and who is the secondary guest. The hotel might wonder why the system will refuse to link 3 reservations but ultimately I doubt it will be a problem.

I was just wondering if anyone has successfully "transferred" these free nights at the Park Hyatt Paris.
I called them to see what the procedure is for a secondary guest to check-in early on their own without the primary guest. They said it's not a problem at all- BUT, if the primary guest never comes to check in later, they cancel the redemption of the free night award and charge the secondary guest the REGULAR COST of the room!! At this hotel, that could hit $1000. Can anyone confirm if this is actually true, and if there is a way around this? Smart of them to do it this way, as it really de-incentivizes trying in the first place...

It's smart to the extent ppl are dumb enough to call and ask. No offense.

It's been done there without hiccup along with dozens of other Hyatt properties.
