Yes, the new DSU's will come in early March (I believe) so I'm (rather someone else) trying to use these ones before they expire. Something needs to be booked before they expire, even if the booking is later in the year.

Each one you use mag take away one of the new ones so what do you gain by doing it now?

My understanding, at least who's done this before, is that using the ones that expire end of Feb. will not count against the 4 new ones I'll get in March. Making a booking now for let's say in September will use one of my FY 2015 DSU's; and it'll be removed from my current balance. Come early March, I'll have four new ones that expire Feb. 2017.

They changed the system and no longer allow DSUs to be booked for after the expiration date. A supervisor will issue an override, and while they can just let you use it they (on 3 occasions) told me that it will be coming out of my new ones, I specifically wrote "may" as the rep can likely do whatever s/he wants.

Emkay might have something there. I have 3 DSU stays booked on my account right now, 2 are before 2/29 and 1 after. My account says I have used 2 out of 4 of my DSUs. Could be the 3rd stay didn't deduct from my account because it's for after February and will just come out of my new ones...
