It's smart to the extent ppl are dumb enough to call and ask. No offense.
It's been done there without hiccup along with dozens of other Hyatt properties.
Well, I don't see what I had to lose by calling and asking- I obviously didn't do anything stupid like giving my name or account number. I was just getting information. But I am new to this kind of thing, so if I really did lose something I'd be happy to learn.
Either way, I'm glad to know that it has been done at the Park Hyatt Paris without a problem. If anyone out there has done it- I'd be happy to learn anything that can make my chances of success more likely- in other words, how to go about it exactly. Have the person staying added to the reservation, and then have them sneak in their spouse after check-in? Also, anything to know about check-out?
Also- if they do decide to charge my card the full cost of the room- will I be able to dispute that charge successfully with my credit card company? I plan on using the Chase Saphirre Preferred, although I also have the AmEx Premier Rewards Gold if necessary.
Thanks in advance!
