If I use a CC to book a Hyatt Award night or any hotel for that matter and then I close down that card before the reservation, does that cause any problems?

If I want to use my two tree nights from opening the Chase card immediately followed by another two free nights from my wife's card (for a total of 4 nights) will that be ok? We'll be staying together. Would they make us change rooms?
