Topic Wiki

There are two different types of hyatt nights. Sign Up Nights (referred to as "SUN"s) and anniversary nights. The sign up nights are from when you sign up for the hyatt credit card. The anniversary night are given to you if you keep the credit card after the first year. You get one anniversary night every year. The sign up nights can be used for any hyatt hotel in the world on any date where a Standard Room is available. The anniversary nights can only be used in hyatt hotels categories 1-4 (Notable category 4 hyatt hotels: Hyatt regency mission bay, San Diego Ca. Andaz peninsula papagayo, Costa Rico.). Obviously the sign up nights are more valuable as they can be used in any hotel worldwide. The way somebody would book this night for you is they would put you as a second guest on the reservation. It is not recommended to combine nights between 3 different accounts or more. Or 2 accounts that none is yours. Obviously any reservation from a diamond account is more valuable since you will get the benefits as a second guest.

Suite Upgrades:

Can be applied to any reservation whether cash, C &P or all points. It must be booked out of the Globalist Account. The Globalist must be the primary on the reservation as well. One DSU (They are actually called TSUs now) works for up to 7 days on a consecutive reservation for the base suite only. Before asking to buy one please check and make sure that the standard suite is available online to save everyone time. When you click on the suite description it will say if the suite is standard or premium if it is standard you can use the TSU if not, you cannot.

Select premium suites can now be booked for double points per night as well.

TSUs cannot be applied to free night certificates for some reason.

Some sellers prefer not to sell TSUs for international reservations as international Hyatts are well know for asking for the account holder to show up in order to give Globalist benefits. Maybe we should make a list of international hotels that are ok with it but that is a YMMV

Other benefits you receive when using a TSU: Free Breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children, 4 PM late checkout, no resort fees on any stay and free parking on award stays only

Per forum rules both buyers and sellers must post a price

You're sure your free nights expire on 2/29/12?

AFAIK they expire after a year.

(Was the Hyatt card promo even offered last feb?)
Yes the cards were offered JAN 2011.  Mine were all activated late 1/2011.  So 1 year after 1st billing comes up to 2/29/2012.
Dan has wrote high marks on the Andaz in Hollywood so if I have to we'll do Staycation here in LA but I'd rather barter the rooms for $$$ which is more useful right now.  Thank you. ;D

Dan, have you been there?  Park Hyatt in Carlsbad looks AWESOME from their website.  We have thought of that & Legoland so close by but I'm almost thinking that place is too nice.  I'd hate for my 10, 8 & 5 year olds to inconvenience other guests as they swim, hoot & holler!  That is a valid alternative however.

I checked availability at the Andaz on Wall Street in NYC & their availability from 12/28-1/2.
Pre-pay price is $304 a night for week & $391 for FRI/SAT/SUN.  Regular rate is: $335 & $450.

In case anyone is interested.... :D

Dan, thanks!  I just went through your post and you had a pix of "adult pool" which lends me to believe there's a kids pool too!  So, I think you sold me on it!  Maybe we'll make the 90 minute trip down there for 2 nights!  Thank you again! ;D

« Reply #32 on: January 09, 2012, 01:41:34 PM »
I have 2 nights for sale that must be used by Leap Day, 2/29!
The uber cool Andaz Hollywood on the Sunset Strip is $374+ a night & discounted up to $274 a night with AAA or such.

I'll make a deal you can't refuse if you buy my 2 nights & use them there!
Thx! :)
